6 firm apples (granny smith are great)

1 lb merckens chocolate wafers

1 lb merckens caramel

6 wood sticks, dowels, or tree branches

toppings, sprinkles, nuts, colored chocolate, mini chips, mini M&M's


SCRUB off wax coating. Dry thoroughly. Insert apple stick. Dip in well melted caramel. Place on cookie sheet buttered or sprayed with Pam. Chill for approximately 15 minutes to set caramel and cool apple. Trim off the excess caramel puddle (can be re-melted). Dip in melted chocolate of your choice. Sprinkle with toppings or drizzle with colored chocolate.  


MELTING THE CARAMEL   Microwave 1lb of caramel for 1 minute on high. Stop & stir. Microwave at 1 minute intervals stirring each time, until smooth. (when doing large quantities crock pot may be used).



  Milk or Dark Chocolate / Chopped Mixed Nuts

  Peanut Butter Chocolate / Mini Chocolate Chips

  White Chocolate / Cinnamon Sugar / Chopped Walnuts & Brown Sugar (Tastes like Apple Pie)

  White Chocolate / Crushed Oreos

  Milk Chocolate / Heath Crunch

  Dark Chocolate / Praline Pieces
